If you’re interested in joining up with a bunch of avgeeks and space geeks visiting aerospace places up at Paine Field in Everett Washington before the Seattle Aerospace BBQ this Saturday, here’s how to join in the fun.

Note: You’ll need to provide your own form of transportation to attend these events. Also, you’ll need to pay for these activities on your own individually.

Now, onto the schedule of events for Saturday the 6th of January 2024.

10:30 AM: Boeing Everett Factory Tour

We’ll meet up at the Future of Flight to take the 11am Boeing Everett Factory Tour, so recommend arriving at 10:30am. The tour takes roughly 80 minutes. Please note the rules of going on the tour(no cameras or phones allowed). After we take the tour, we’ll all go down to the 747 vertical stabilizer(tail) in the museum and take a group photo.

You’ll need to pre-purchase your ticket to ensure you get on the same tour with all the other people in town for the BBQ. Pick the date of 01/06/24 and the 11am time.

Noon: Lunch at Mukilteo Speedway Cafe

Suggested lunch venue: Mukilteo Speedway Cafe. Good variety of food options and friendly staff.

2 PM: Museum of Flight Restoration Center

The Museum of Flight Restoration Center will be open just for us! We’ve arranged a time of being there on Saturday from 2pm-4pm. I can’t thank the Museum of Flight enough for doing this for us. Please say thank you to museum staff when you visit because since the pandemic, it is not opened regularly to the public.

10 AM - 5 PM: Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum

The Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum was founded by the late Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen. It’s an amazing collection of rare aircraft, tanks and space vehicles well worth seeing. They are open on that Saturday from 10am-5pm.

5:30 - 8:30 PM: Seattle Aerospace BBQ

After everyone gets their fill of visiting places around Paine Field, we’ll be heading south to Jack’s BBQ in Seattle. Tickets are required.

Note: optimal driving time on I-5 south is about 30 minutes to Seattle. That being stated, we’ll be monitoring traffic while we’re up there that to ensure we get to Jack’s on time that we might have to leave earlier.
