Analysis: yesterday was busiest COVID-era day for US passenger airlines

An analysis of JetTip's flight data confirms yesterday, March 11, was the busiest COVID-era day for US passenger airlines based on the number of passenger airline departures from US airports.

The three busiest COVID-era days by number of US passenger airline departures from US airports so far:

  • Thursday, March 11, 2021: 16,648
  • Sunday, November 29, 2020: 16,498
  • Sunday, January 3, 2020: 16,215

Furthermore, based on the number of departures from US airports, yesterday was the busiest single COVID-era day for airlines Frontier, SkyWest, and PSA. It was also the busiest COVID-era day by departures for Atlanta (ATL), Dallas - Ft. Worth (DFW), Denver (DEN), Charlotte (CLT), Miami (MIA), Phoenix (PHX) and Houston (IAH).
